The reporter who agrees to pay their wedding for the society page turns out to be Kevin, who writes wedding bulletins under a pseudonym. Having checked the contents of Jane's coordinator before returning it, he then decides to make use of the contents as material for just a piece on the "perennial bridesmaid" in addition to hopefully be promoted to creating investigative pieces about "real" news.
Jane is unaware of Kevin's goals, and when he asks to help interview her for his column on Tess, gets her to try on all 27 bridesmaids garments in her closet. He takes pictures of her in these and sends them with the completed article to his superior. As they get to know the other because of Tess's wedding, Kevin begins to think that Jane is not seeing that one-dimensional as he thought, and asks his editor to carry his article so he may "fix" it.
When Kevin realizes that Jane is getting her sister's marriage fixed using the man she loves, he rebukes the woman's. Jane agrees for 1 drink with Kevin and ultimately ends up getting drunk. Kevin and Jane kiss and make love in the car. Kevin's editor runs this article anyway on the front page of the Commitments section. When Jane involves know about it, the future morning, Jane feels betrayed and it is furious at him. Tess next gets angry at Jane intended for giving Kevin material about the woman's, whom he describes as some sort of bridezilla. The fight escalates when Anne realizes that Tess destroyed their late mother's stunning wedding dress to make her own dress, the last straw on Tess' sequence of lies to George in addition to demands on Jane.
