Bob "Hannibal" Smith (Liam Neeson) is actually held captive in Mexico by two Federal Police working for renegade General Javier Tuco. Hannibal goes out and sets out to relief Templeton "Faceman" Peck (Bradley Cooper), that is held captive at Tuco's rnch. Hannibal saves Face after signing up fellow Ranger BA Baracus (Quinton Jackson), driving for the rescue in BA's modified GMC Vandura van. Pursued by Tuco, they stop at a nearby Army Hospital to recruit the services of eccentric pilot Howling Mad Murdock (Sharlto Copley). They flee in a medical helicopter, chased by Tuco, in a dogfight that leaves BA which has a fear of flying. The battle ends whenever they lure Tuco's helicopter into Us airspace, where it is shot down.
Eight years later with Iraq, Hannibal is contacted simply by CIA Special Activities Division operative Lynch (Patrick Wilson), who assigns them a black ops mission to recuperate U. S. Treasury plates and over $1 million in cash from Iraqi insurgents slated to relocate it out of Baghdad in a armored convoy. Hannibal's commanding police officer, General Morrison (Gerald McRaney), consents for the operation but Face's former partner, DCIS Capt. Charissa Sosa (Jessica Biel), tries to discourage the team against obtaining the plates. The mission is productive; when the team returns to base, however, the money and Morrison's car or truck are destroyed by Brock Pike (Brian Bloom) and his men on the private security firm Black Woodland. Without Morrison (the only proof they were authorized to act), Hannibal, Encounter, Murdock, and BA are court martialed where they are sentenced to ten years with prison and dishonorably discharged. Sosa also appeared court martialed and is demoted to lieutenant.
